Can’t we just use AI to build this?
We do. AI has become fundamental to competitive design and software development. But AI accelerates the workflow you give it. Without the right expertise, it can just as quickly accelerate the wrong design or implementation. We use AI to amplify experienced designers and engineers who can direct the work, challenge its assumptions and review the output. The more complex, interconnected or business-critical the system becomes, the more that judgment matters.
Why design it before you start coding?
Because implementation is an expensive place to discover fundamental design decisions. Within the agreed scope, we first make the solution tangible, validate it rapidly with users and stakeholders, and resolve the important interaction and system decisions. That gives engineering something intentional to implement against, while changes are still relatively inexpensive to make.
You don't know our business. How can you design the right solution?
We design it with you, not for you. You bring the domain expertise; we bring product, design and technical expertise. We’re used to complex domains and, in the seed industry, already bring substantial domain experience, allowing us to get to meaningful decisions quickly and challenge assumptions rather than starting from zero.
We already have developers. Can you work with them?
Absolutely. Build doesn't require Through.design to provide all development. We can design the solution and work directly with your engineers during implementation, or bring engineering capacity ourselves. What matters is that business, design and engineering work as one team around the same solution.
